This is the second episode of a course in Cognitive Linguistics. This episode addresses the topic of Conceptual Metaphor Theory. This theory holds that metaphor is understanding one thing in terms of another thing. Metaphor is thus a matter of thought, not a matter of words. By now, there is psychological evidence that supports this view.
